MONKEYS HAVE LANDED

My monkeys arrived. YEAH!!!! AND are they lovely. My pal is Dotty and I received those lovely pink monkeys knitted in Araucania Ranco color PINK that was posted here about a month ago!! Here is how I received them and Dotty sent the left over yarn. And here they are on my feet. They fit perfectly and are so comfy.

Monkeys in Oregon

Look at what arrived for me yesterday in the mail! This great package arrived all the way from Anne in Michigan. First in line is a gorgeous pair of Monkey socks that fit perfectly. There were so many goodies that I had to split them up into the two pictures. The boys loved the airplanes and the stuffed monkey. I loved all of the yarn. There is the two that are shown in the bottom picture and there is a skein inside the Red Cross tin. I have actually always wanted one of those tins. And then there is the yummy chocolate and lemon drops. We are gonna give the coffee a try tomorrow. Thank you to Anne!!!

I just finished one Monkey in Wollmeise Rittersporn. I have all of my gifts ready to go too. I just need to buy my partner a pattern and finish the 2nd sock.

I finally got the sock yarn in (okay, it was an excuse to order some for me too!) and have started the socks over the weekend.

So far so good...the color is gorgeous and the yarn is working well.

I've charcoaled the color so my pal can't figure out who I am....and the color would definately give me away! :)

Dear Monkey pal,

Even though I haven't told you these very pretty socks are yours. Also the cute Curious George bag that I have been holding your fancy modified monkeys is yours. I've fallen in love with both; however I will make sure that they make it into your package. The socks are almost complete I just have one more lace repeat then the toe decreases to knit! Also all your monkey goodies have arrived except one, so in the meantime I'll finish your socks and get you some more goodies for your package before they head home to you. I hope you enjoy your socks and the mods.

PS These are a pair of mini-monkeys (only 4 repeats of the lace with a picot edge cuff) I love them and will be making a pair for myself very soon! You can never have enough monkey socks!

Monkey Business

Monkey Progress

So I don't sound like a total loser, the yarn has come in, I've cast on and have begun the first sock, and all the goodies have been purchased. I'll probably add a few things here and there as I go, but the main items (including several that aren't on the "have to buy" list) are ready to go. Now I just have to finish the socks. Here's a hint - they're a cashmere blend. :)

Some serious monkey socks already in action! I had to admit to my monkeypal that I'd been buying monkey things in anticipation of a swap. Couldn't resist! As for yarn for the exchange, I'm guilty of sending teaser messages to said pal -- nee-ner! Love the two-colour monkey's just posted.
