Since I'm still waiting for my yarn to arrive I decided to make my pal a sock monkey. It was really fun to make & super easy. I got the directions from this site
I hope my pal likes it! Briefly blogged here

I love the monkey! Good job!
I need help. I can leave comments to other people's posts, but I can't figure out how to leave a post of my own. How do you do it?
Thanks for your help!
When you're on the main page for the blog, go to the top & login. From there you will see your dashboard with the Monkey sock swap blog. There is an option for New Post and you click on that. Does that make sense?
What an adorable monkey!!!
Terrific, I love her!!
I wanted to make my pal a monkey too but couldn't find the right socks, yours is absolutely adorable! Maybe I'll branch out and do a fun and funky sock money instead of worrying about the "right" socks!
Thank you, Renee - it does indeed!
That is hilarious. I love the polka dots cuz my name is Dotty.
What a cute little monkey! Great idea!
When I first saw your monkey I thought you made it until I read further and found out it was a "sock". How absolutly adorable.
Did you use a 9-11 woman's sock or a smaller sized pair? I only found one 9-11 pair in the dollar bin at Target and I hated the color...and I found smaller that I adored! Help!
Yes I used regular size 9-11. Check Wal-Mart. They had a ton of funky socks for $1.00. I also bought a pair of knee-high socks to try, but they were a brown color and the stuffing showed through too much and the legs were awkwardly long. I hope you see this response!
